The Proposal: Love, Laughter, and a Michelin Star Surprise

Our engagement story is a tale of meticulous planning, unexpected twists, and, most importantly, a resounding "yes" that made it all worthwhile.

Knowing that Eva has an unwavering love for fine dining,and a particularly desire for a Michelin-starred experience, I decided to weave my proposal into a culinary adventure. With her favorite thing (other than myself, of course) being good food, I made a reservation at a renowned Michelin star restaurant (Raina), securing a table for their fixed dinner menu.

In an attempt to add an extra layer of surprise, I informed the restaurant staff in advance about my intention to propose during the evening. My plan was to present the engagement ring on the final plate, artfully adorned with decorative sauce stenciling.

As the evening unfolded, we were led to the bar for a pre-dinner drink, building up the anticipation. After a brief wait, the hostess guided us to our table. Little did I know that an unexpected twist awaited us.

To my surprise, the hostess, with unwavering focus on Eva, mistook her decorative promise ring for a engagement ring. In an instant, she congratulated us on the proposal, leaving me momentarily stunned. My carefully laid plan seemed to unravel before my eyes.

With the element of surprise compromised, I decided to salvage the moment with a touch of humor. Maintaining what little confidence remained, I retrieved the ring from my pocket and said, "Now that you already know what's going on... will you marry me?" Her eyes widened, and a smile formed as she responded with a heartfelt "yes."

While the hostess inadvertently revealed my plan, it became a humorous part of our engagement story. It taught us that even the best-laid plans can take unexpected turns, but in the end, the magic lies in the shared laughter and the joyous affirmation of love.
